If you have not heard, there is a recall
of the 1998-2005 (and some 2006) Suzuki cruisers (VL1500
and C90/T Boulevard Models).
This encompasses
approx. 38,000 bikes. The
recall is for a
suspected fuel leak problem
resulting from
stress fractures to the
front mounting point
of the fuel tank. |

Curve Unit
www.CurveUnit.com
Three years ago, Curve Unit was started when a group of girls noticed
a lack of an all-women's sport bike club in the Bay Area. They started out as just
a small handful of riders, and became oh-so
much more!
On and off the asphalt, Curve Unit, an ever-growing number of fabulously skilled
women riders (mostly from the South and East
Bay), is making quite an impact. These hot
girls ride some of the most coveted sport
bikes out there, from a tricked-out GXSR 600 Telefonica replica to a cherry Ducati 998.
They come from all walks of life,
including
nurses, paralegals, psychologists,
lab techs,
and sales coordinators; yet,
with one thing
in common, the need for speed
on two wheels!

As the owner of Werkstatt, an outspoken Jennifer Bromme sets high standards and really delivers.
Jen always had a way with fixing bikes. In
1990, she started an apprenticeship as a
motorcycle mechanic in Munich, Germany, at
a Honda/Yamaha dealership.
In 1993 she moved to the US and only one
year later opened the appropriately named
"Die Werkstatt" (the workshop). Today with 3 hard-working
employees and a 3000 square foot facility
in San Francisco, Jennifer is going strong
and looking to grow!
Werkstatt, as it is known today, specializes in all Japanese brands as well as pre-95 BMWs, for full service and repairs.

Wendy Epstein
Mission Motorcycles
www.MissionMotorcycles.com
6232 Mission St. Daly City, CA
650-992-1234 or 415-333-1234
|
If there was ever a woman to hold the #1
plate for "Grande Dame" of Bay Area Motorcycling, there's no doubt
that it would be Wendy Epstein. Owner of Mission Motorcycles in Daly City, she's been riding for over
35 years, racing for 29 of those years and
leaving an indelible mark in motorcycling
history.
Her riding career began at the
tender age
of 14, when her parents got her
a Yamaha JT-1 Enduro because they thought it was safer than a
mini-bike. At 18, she got a job at the Yamaha cycle shop in Daly City. She won her class
at her very first off-road race and and she
kept on racing, eventually reaching Daytona. Along the way, she learned to port her own
engines, build bikes from the ground up and
blame herself when they blew up on the track.
She ranks as the only woman to
ever finish
in the top 10 at an AMA Pro Superbike race. As you would expect, she built her
own Superbike and traveled down to Daytona for her first Superbike grid. Amazingly,
she was 5th fastest qualifying, behind Freddie Spencer, Eddie Lawson, Ron Pierce,
and Wes Cooley.
